Hello folks,

after a lot of trouble with my last Speedy, I jumped into another one today. The condition is lovely and the serial is 29M. I love it's look and hope that this time everything is okay. The bracelet isn't the real deal but I got it as a bonus. It's 1171 with one 633 and one 16 end link. But that is okay for me.

Here are some quick pics and I hope you like it.

Kind regards,
Manuel

What do you mean the bracelet isn't the real deal? Replica? My 29,xxx,xxx 69 Speedmaster originally came with the 1171.

Nice looking watch and everything looks original. Does the 1171 have the trapezoid omega logo?
If so then it's original to the watch.

I doubt any 69 speedmaster originally came with a 1171.
I could be totally wrong though. 😉

The trapezoid logo was only introduced from 1978, according to AJTT.

Trapezoid is older than the squared bracelet for 1171. Late 69-70 speedmasters had the 1171 bracelets. Mine is a 1 owner watch that came original with the 1171.

Even this chart contradicts itself with the bracelet types. 1171/1 is a later model of the 1171

The square logo was introduced in 1981, after the trapezoid. But the first version only came with the raised logo.

Concerning logo designs, I think Omega's documentation with exact details like this is more credible than how many owners your watch has had.

How does some uninformed conjecture prove these statements from AJTT a hogwash? I think you should go eat your own hogwash before spouting baseless assumption again.

What does that show me or the op? I told him mine came with an 1171 with trapezoid logo. It is not a later addition to the watch. The owner of mine purchased it from the store with the 1171 bracelet.
I'm posting articles with other people's findings as well. You post a picture with the 1171 and what it is.... With a description. You say it's not original to the 145.022-69 and I say mine is. Agree to disagree but don't be a dick about it.

The 1171 is the earlier model of the 1171/1. These were produced around early 1970 which is when the 145.022-69 Speedmaster with 29 million serial is made.

You are the dick by calling my reference to A Journey Through Time ( AJTT - something you didn't know of) hogwash. All you based your opinion on are uninformed opinions of other people. They all are uninformed opinion because they didn't even know of the third kind of clasp cover for the 1171, which happens to be the first version. And you use that as a fact? That's how you operate?

Thank you all for the kind words about the watch.

I called the bracelet not the real deal because I thought it should have a 1039 bit I'm by far no expert. And the two different end links of course...

Anyhow it was a bonus to the watch so I'm happy with it.

The watch is more precise 29,122m if someone is interested in that.

Cheers,

Cheers,

It's a very nice watch and in great condition. Wear it with pride as I do mine.
The 1171 is a comfortable bracelet and I love it on mine.
The 2 different end links are no biggie really unless you plan on selling it. I currently have the 633's on mine but just purchased some 677's as they supposedly fit better.
The serial number puts it around tropical dial territory, do you see it having a brown hue in the sunlight? Mine is 29,114,xxx and has started to turn brown.

Well I have a one owner 76 with the second type clasp, and now a 74 has appeared in another post with the same clasp.
I can assure you that the 1171 on my watch is not a later replacement so I can only assume that the information in AJTT is a typo.
