I'm a new member to the forum--what a great community you have here! Looking for some advice on buying a vintage gold Omega. I not unfamiliar with vintage watches generally, with Rolex, Hermes, Hamilton and Zodiac in my collection, but I am certainly not an expert and don't know the specifics on the broad assortment of vintage Omegas.

Could someone point to some trusted sellers or online stores? I have spent some time on eBay and there seems to be a minefield of restored dials, franken watches, bad photos, etc. Given the higher price point of gold, I would like to deal with someone with a solid reputation. I have a particular interest in the 1940s Omegas, especially the ones with printed dials. I am located in the US if that matters.

Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

Just how gold does it need to be? I personally do not want solid gold because you can't tell by looking and it costs a lot more. In fact, my favorite watch is gold capped, so there is steel but it's so unique it's really cool.

Something to think about.
