Thanks all! I am going to change my initial thoughts. Crown and strap only.

After a few days another observation / question. When I do a manual wind it does not feel as “smooth” as my 1969 Genève. It feels a bit “grinding”. Almost like something holds it back or it runs against something. I never had this Calibre and also never a 1959 watch. Is this something somebody recognizes?

Thanks!

A couple members have already said that if you don’t know the service history of the watch, it might be time for one. Its almost a presumptive rule when it comes to vintage: needs service unless proven otherwise by a receipt/certificate.

Went to the watchmaker and slightly to my surprise all was OK. No reason for a service on short term. He only replaced the sealing ring. Great start of ownership.
