I'm mixed on how omega is starting to use shorter links. I know that they are generally more comfortable, but I think I miss the ruggedness that longer links give.

If Omega had to copy Rolex, I wish they copied the Explorer 36mm. It's bizarre that Omega really has nothing that can scratch that itch. A plain black dial with a brushed bracelet on a tool watch. The quartz AT used to.

I think Railmaster is now the contender against Explorer. Albeit these are 40mm.

Saw these images show up in my Instagram and think they look quite sharp under a nice light source.

It's a shame that Omega is copying every Rolex step.
Are they?

I think it’s more like omega are late to the colour game. They have a great selection of colours and are more refined than their Rolex counterparts. Two totally different watches.

I watch a lot of reviews and have found that the common theme is if Rolex comes out with something peoples response is “wow how great, innovative and classy, need to have this” and when omega try anything it’s always “did we really need this?, wow great job copying Rolex”.

these will sell. if the craze over the terrible OPs are anything this will satisfy all those waiting in line for a chance.

The red is quite nice, but I prefer the teak dials. I will say the success of Rolex’s OP line has really surprised me, and on paper, the Aqua Terra is a better watch at a lower price — and odd actually available. Theoretically, it should do well, but with the questionable execution of the date window, they maybe been better off without it (perhaps that would’ve been too on the nose).

Leaving the date window like that for the 38mm just looks plain wrong. I've always thought the aqua terra lineup has one of the most well executed date windows. Why are they leaving this one out.

This looks a million times nicer:

This too:

And even a cheap off-brand watch frames the date on a sunburst dial
Surprised, they tweaked the date window.

That 2nd photo looks great -- hopefully that's accurate otherwise the date window looks terrible and unfinished.

I think they are just gorgous colors, rivitalizing a line like the aquaterra one for retail clients. taking out the brand, ony of these models can trigger the rolex OP counterpart in my humble opinion!

Still haven't seen any of these in an AD.
That's because they haven't even been released yet!

I thought these were supposed to be available last year?
Lol. Keyword phrase is "supposed to be" but Omega kept delaying release and now rumor is late spring or early summer 2023.

Gotcha. A 38 mm aqua terra is probably my next watch. Would love to see both versions before deciding.

Well, I think that the fact they announced them pretty soon after the colorful Rolexes became hugely popular (a bit unexpected too?) and are still failing to get them in the store windows proves that it was a reaction on that success. It was a rush move to ride the wave without the immediate possibility to ramp up production.

They're also not totally different watches. The Aqua Terra is probably what comes closest to the Oyster Perpetual (as Omega doesn't have a no date sports watch).

And Rolex did them after they saw how popular these were...and after they stopped this company from selling them...

Some delivered to my local AD today. Hoping to see them tomorrow. Apparently available to put “full deposit” down but won’t let you pick up until early next month.
