New battery for my new Equinoxe

Just picked this old Equinoxe up, sight unseen, from a local auction house.

Of course it didn’t work (didn’t say it did), but I didn’t think much of it. Change the battery while hoping for the best, I thought.

After purchase I started googling a bit and noticed quite a few posts saying that it’s a PITA to change the battery and almost all were recommended to visit an Omega-authorized dealer.
I like doing my own dirty work, however.

While no watchmaker I’m reasonably handy around watches.
Do my own battery and crystal changes, relume hands and such.

If I do want to risk doing it myself...
Is there anything that I need to think of?

They aren't as difficult to replace as you think, I have done it a couple of time on my wife equinox, the tricky part if there is one is getting the batteries out, I use a very small jewellers screwdriver and some patience.

Nice!
That helped a lot.
In the pics there seem to be a tab to pull the battery out?

Can’t really see this on mine...
Makes things a lot more interesting, I think. 😉

Got it!
Looks to have been some leaking at some point.
Hopefully still okay with new battery.

Thanks for the help! 😀

Oh, by the way...
There's no 'reset' or anything needed after a battery change? This is sometimes the case with more advanced quartz movements.
Nothing said on the Japanese page, so I'm guessing not.
