New AT 38mm 8800 losing 2 seconds per day

·I have noted my Planet Ocean 43.5 and SMPc 2500 both lose 2 sec a day on a winder and gain about that when left flat dial up at night

·There are 86,400 seconds per day. Off by two is amazing for a mechanical watch: I believe that’s two-thousandths of one percent, give or take.
It may fall out of METAS -0/+5, but is it worth having the watch serviced or replaced? I personally would say no, even though a slow watch is more annoying than a fast one. The movement may settle a bit over the next few months, and you can also play around with different overnight resting positions.
Wear, enjoy for a while, and if it’s still out of spec, well, you’ve got years of warranty remaining: get it serviced and refinished by Omega after it’s picked up a few scratches and dents.

·If you wear it every day, don’t put it on the watch winder. There’s no need. Lay it dial up overnight and see if the timing changes.

·Don't bother with a winder if wearing daily.
I have a PO 8900 and it can gain 10secs/week resting face up at night and loose 5-10/week resting crown up at night. I have found a balance of each and now is almost spot on. It's mechanical, don't worry about it, wear and enjoy.

·It may swing the other way over time. My 3861 speedy was about +3 seconds over a week when I first got it. I recently recorded its accuracy after having it for 1 year and it now losses something similar to that over 1 week.
As others have said, -2 seconds per day for a mechanical watch is nothing. Enjoy your beautiful new watch and forget about the 2 seconds/day

·Thanks everyone. This was helpful. Last night, I left it face up on the nightstand, instead of putting it on the winder, and it gained around two seconds, rather than losing two. Since being early is always better than being late, a couple of seconds fast bothers me not at all.
I have an Omega Speedmaster 38 (caliber 3330), which wobbles like there’s a tiny hamster on a wheel inside, and other quirks, but it never seems to drift more than a second fast, regardless. My Hamilton Khaki 38 auto gains 2 seconds consistently. I’d assumed this Aqua Terra would behave the same, if not more consistently. And I didn’t understand how the -0/+5 was calculated (thanks for that!).
Oddly enough, this reminds me of my Seiko 5 watches (snkl23 and snk809, because the internet), which gain and lose consistently throughout the day, but do both so consistently that they average out to never being too far out of time.
Anyway, you all helped talk me down off the ceiling, for which I am grateful.
