After a somewhat arduous search and one slight overreaction on my part 🙄 I have found a new addition to my collection.

Enough with the chitchat, on to the photos:

For keeping it fresh I purchased a 62150H Jubilee and a couple of Joseph Bonnie straps to go with it.

Tested power reserve ~53h, amplitude 285° , +6s/d (face up)

Movement shots:

And for a small question / opinion matter:

Should I take it straight to service or can I enjoy it for a little bit? 😬 The rotor has some grime on it at periferal edge and overall there seems to be a small residues on the rotor. Additionally does the inside case back show rotor rub signs at the point where there is that black/grime on the rotor? The rotor itself in my eyes doesn't exhibit other signs of damage.
All functions work good, manual winding feels a bit tight/rough though when comparing to my 1655. 😒

Tl;dr Should I take this in for immediate service or can I enjoy it for a bit? opinions /advice appreciated.

Great looking watch! Looks really nice on that grey strap.

Sorry, can’t help on whether or not to service.

Great purchase!!
I know to be safe many members will recommend a service...
But I never open a caseback (aside from speedys because I have the tool) and then inspect the rotor if there are residues.
If I did that, I think I will end up servicing almost every watch I have because they are all vintage...
So I would just enjoy it. But hey I'm probably gonna get rekt by members here with more technical knowledge..

Thanks for the input and nice words. I really enjoy it and I have to admit that my lacking skills as a watch photographer do not do justice to this.

I think I will for the time being enjoy it and I'll take it to service later or if something comes up. 👍

P.s. I didn't open it myself, it was a Rolex AD watchmaker who opened and showed me a couple of things. Very nice guy.

Nice find! Would love to see on jubilee. As to service, I’m torn, given you can hear some rubbing.

Edit to add- I just bought an EXP II White 16570 that I could hear the “whir” of the rotor. I took it to my watchmaker who adjusted that part, added a new screw, and sent me on my way for $50. I’ll enjoy it for awhile then maybe take it in for service in a few months. Runs like a top.

Thanks for the input. I decided to wear it "sparingly" 😜 until I get it to my watchmaker for a service in about 4 weeks. He mentioned that the rough/gritty winding is probably due to wear in the automatic winding gears, or it's just dry.

I might just put it on the jubilee for Independence day celebrations, a fitting occasion.
