I like my SpeedTril $75,000 more today. But seriously, so it’s gold trilogy case with New321 dial and movement, correct? but Moonshine and Sedna speedy is $36k. Why $80 for this? What am I missing?
Onyx dial, sapphire in caseback, but agreed it's too expensive maybe to make the other Speedy's they offer look like a bargain?
If you take the platinum 321 that also has a onyx dial and add on a canopus 3861 bracelet (not that you ever should mix PMs), you're still going to have $6k left over. And lets assume the difference between the platinum and canopus case makes up for the teeny sapphire. I really have no clue whats up with this pricing.
omega marketing is missing out on the flex culture. No young person is getting laid buying this, it’s a $6k watch on IG. $81k…that’s TWO complicated Patek. unless, this is made to drive entry level pieces. This makes no sense to me.
Ill repeat my post in RJ's thread ... Absolutely fabulous piece Even if I could allow myself to afford this, I would still have to be honest with myself (because it is not possible to lie to yourself) : the winner is... (Synthetic light) (Sunlight) ...especially with the pictured combo of a mint 1960's 1035/506. Thanks Omega for continuing to make stunning watches, as well as continuing to affirm the choice of awesome watches I have already bought from you
I think I know what’s going on with pricing. Palladium and Gold are actually more expensive than platinum right now. Omega must have a much larger profit margin on a platinum 321 than on a Canopus 3861 with bracelet. This new Canopus 321 would likely be more expensive to make than a platinum 321. I suspect they want this to be a halo piece and maintain margins similar to platinum 321. It’s still absurd , because at this price level they are trying to play out of their league.
I NEVER ever been in the AP Boutique in Paris because I can't afford it yet. I actually never ever worn one. But I think that I will probably never buy a "recent" watch" on the grey market. But never say never ...
And that, I believe, is exactly what Omega is trying to achieve with exceptional(ly expensive) pieces like these.
pasting RJ's article, the tach is filled in with grand feu enamel. Is this model not a limited run or numbered edition?
now if only they'd make one of these in steel, drop the sapphire and put a solid steel caseback on it (and adjust the price accordingly of course). then we'd have a winner! ....wait a minute....
Pass on the watch - way out of my budget. With that said though, that presentation box *should* have been the one the platinum or SS 321 watches came with!!
Seemed like price increased, I recall seeing € 80,4K, checking now it shows € 85,6K: Also price differential USD-EUR 4.5K compared to SS321 differing only 0,1K .
