I'm assuming by late model 5513 you're talking about the gloss dials with white gold surrounds? If that's the case, I would go for the new movement and better priced tritium/holes 14060.

Thanks CoDiffe Yes I was only considering mid to late 90s white gold surrounds because they are priced more in my range (sort of)

Agree. If I were you, keep on eye on the market. These might drop $500 yet, not a ton but a little. IMO

If this is the case, then I鈥檇 also go with the 14060 for updated movement. But if you were considering a slightly older 5513 with a matte dial, I woulda went with that as I鈥檓 a big fan of the matte dial on a tool watch as iconic as the sub

Very true. Love the matte dial as well but those will more than likely be out of the OP鈥檚 price range.

There are arguments to be made on both sides, and that would suggest that you really can't go wrong here. Personally I would buy either one but I would let the condition of the watch be the determinant.
Enjoy the hunt!

Think that 5513 production ended in 89 when 14060 was introduced so if you are looking for mid to late 90s then there seems to be only one option.
Tritium was phased out around 96 so luminova dials are more likely to be where you end up.

I should clarify I would want only the white gold surrounds variant in a 5513 or any tritium 14060 always assuming that condition is equal. obviously if one it is in better condition than another I would purchase the better condition of the two

Nothing beats a WG 5513.... I love the old 5513 case and the acrylic crystals. Plus its rare than the 14060.

It sounds like you already know exactly what you want. Fortunately, both of these options are readily available.

Well, it's obviously just personal preference, so the only opinion that matters is yours. In your previous post, you indicated that you would buy whichever one is in better condition, and I think that's a good idea.

5513 is pure Rolex heritage and desireable.

I will admit - I do really like the acrylic look on the 5513. Also the flat 4 on the bezel 馃グ
