Hi there,
Am gifting my brother a pre-loved timepiece and need your thoughts on if these are real or fake? I tried reading through the research on how to spot fakes but am still unsure — help?

Also, which one of these two would a 30yr old gent prefer, IF real?

Thank you, thank you!!
Appreciate what knowledge you could share ☺️

Lovely gesture, but to be totally honest, neither of those watches would be desirable to me personally. They would just sit in the drawer as a gift from my sibling.

If there are any 30 year old members, maybe they can comment if they feel differently.

I don't have any reason to think they're not authentic.

Welcome @e11yne

The difficulty here is that not all but most on OF prefer mechanical watches over quartz watches.
If you think your brother has similar taste to you then either watch might suit.
Out of the two I would prefer the simpler Constellation ( and the bracelet on the Seamaster appears damaged)

It would be interesting to know what price is being asked for each of these watches.

Vintage Constellations are indeed highly appreciated but I wouldn’t classify either of these watches as vintage.

Fixed bracelet is sized for a wrist. If your brothers wrist is larger than cut size. Can’t add to it. If small. Can only remove so much before bracelet won’t fit the buckle.

Second, Bracelet in poor condition due to worn plated gold parts. Looks like a drawer find your trying to pawn off on someone.

Being quartz. I don’t think a constellation model is going to run any better.

Look for something better. Stay away from older plated watches. Stick to stainless steel model
