My better half likes vintage Bulovas, me too tbh. I think they really pushed the boundaries in terms of design and certainly a talking point.
Great shout re the Seiko divers too (2625 types) little crackers!

Yeah, there are some really fun 2625s up on eBay right now. Trying to convince her that they aren't too big. Might just buy one or a vintage Bulova and see how she likes it in person. Worst case, I'd be out $150 until I can unload it.

Dear God, what have I done ::facepalm1::? On the plus side, the thread title has provoked some great suggestions.

Go for one with huuge

tracts of land.

Does my fathers-in-law's coffee farm in the Philippines count?

"Does my fathers-in-law's coffee farm in the Philippines count?"

As long as it sits on a huge tract that isn't in a swamp.

Check and check. Top of a hill in beautiful Bacolod.

Update: thanks to everyone for your awesome suggestions. My partner just ordered a couple items. Will send pics when they arrive so you can roll your eyes at her strange selections.

How about a birth year watch? I bought my wife a vintage gold Rolex.

I just read the title of the thread and assumed this was a thread about choosing a wife

I got my wife this funky thing from the 60s. It cost only 350,-€
Well i couldnt let it be unserviced, so i sent it in for service, which cost extra..
She loves it, and it fits perfectly her small wrists. She got more comments on her watch in few weeks than i in the past years 😁
It is surely not a boring watch.

I wish she'd go for a vintage cosmic! But, I have a few vintage 34-36mm pieces (Omega Geneve, vintage Tudor, etc) that she's not excited by. But she is keen on something weird/unusual with a timing bezel. So, we just ordered a couple wacky swatches. Will share pics when the arrive.

With any luck, this will be a gateway to getting her something nicer.

Well, here's the update I'm sure you've all been anxiously awaiting.

Sorry to disappoint, but my wife, ever frugal and practical, settled on some wacky swatches, and also borrowing my vintage Hamilton quartz diver.

I kinda dig her Swatch Flash Arrow.

But I'm still scheming on her behalf. I'm thinking of picking up a vintage Bulova diver to see how she likes a mechanical watch.

Thanks so much to everyone for your input. Sorry she didn't listen to any of your advice. At all. 😁

Edit: forgot that @ahsposo called it on page one of this thread.

Update: snagged a little vintage Bulova for her, and she seems to actually like it. Now, maybe she'll return the favor and surprise me with an Ultraman.
