Need some help to find out details about my Omega Seamaster

Good evening,

I inherited an Omega Seamster from my Grandfather (RIP) lately and I'd like to know more about it.
I brought the watch to a watchmaker who sent it to Omega for a revision and now its perfectly working and looks nice again. Unfortunately the original certificates etc. are lost and there is no serial number visible on the case, so I think it is a model, where the number is somewhere inside. But: the watchmaker gave me a new warranty paper and wrote some numbers down: "Case or serial number: 3861031" and another number without any labeling "25737 MG".

Maybe I am to dumb to google correct, but I can't get any legit infos with these numbers. What I like to know is:
- the exact model (with comparing images I found out that it could be a "Seamaster Polaris Chronograph" but is that the official model designation?)
- What is the year it was produced? (Should be around 1990-1995 as long as my memories are right)
- What price was it when my grandpa bought it?

Thank you and best wishes from Germany,

Markus

It is a Seamaster Polaris Chronograph, from the late 80s or early 90s. Titanium and gold, I believe. The movement is quartz, but it’s a really good movement — replicates the old mechanical Lemania 5100 with a central minute counter (instead of showing that on a subdial).

Don’t know what the numbers mean, but I’ve always liked this watch. It has a funky look, the two tone looks great on it, and I love that quartz chrono movement (I have it in 2 other watches).

Hey,

thanks for your answers 😀 Yes I totally love the look of it and I'm happy to wear it everyday.

@Untame That link is nice, thank you!

Is there an option to find out the exact year it was produced?

Regards

You need the serial number on the inside of the caseback (8 digit number). You can cross reference it here:

Perfect. Next time the battery is low and has to be replaced I'll ask the watchmaker if he can write it down for me or make picture or something. I don't want to open it by myself.

Thanks for the infos guys. Nice working community here in the forum 😀
