I doubt I can justify it either, but that doesn't mean that the only other choice is a reproduction. There's a third choice: No bracelet at all. The 'if-I-can't-have-what-I-want-then-I-don't-want-anything' choice. I don't know, and some of the threads about bracelets causing case damage concern me.

Of course, I respect your perspective. 馃憤

I've got a couple of Uncle Seiko rubber straps and they're really good value. I use the waffle strap on the Speedy and love it. I'd bet that these bracelets will turn out well. Good luck with the project.

Looking forward to seeing the results. When planning the end links keep asking questions as I have had issues swapping pro bracelets between cases, I think some of the spring bar holes are in different locations dependent on the pro case. So if SEL this may have an impact. However sign me up for a FOIS flatlink !!

Do you think Omega will sell the 50th anniversary steel bracelet separately? Would be cool to have the flat style 1035 but new. And more importantly, will it fit the current standard Professional model?

I assume you mean 50th anniversary. If so it won't for other Speedies.

Yes. Sorry. Updated post.

What鈥檚 the best way to get a bracelet like that from an OB to fit the modern Speedy Pro?

If you search out the threads on the 50th anniversary it is discussed. I don't recall the exact details, but the 50th case has a lip or something for the bracelet to fit into. It is not possible to get a flat link bracelet from an OB for anything other than the 50th; this is why what @unclepenn1 is proposing is being met with such excitement.

G'day Larry.
I reckon your best bet as far as appealing to a large number of potential buyers is to do a replica of the 1039/516 bracelet. There are plenty of older Speedmaster's that would benefit from a period correct replica of this bracelet. I'd buy one.
The 1035 bracelet would appeal to owners of the modern FOIS and that can piggyback off the 1039 with minor modification.
Anything else is perhaps more of a niche product.
The real challenge is getting hold of an original bracelet to measure up. The 1035 can be had fairly cheaply, but the 1039 costs a bomb. Your best bet may be to see if there's someone near to you who is willing to meet up for a measuring session.

I'm not sure I'd agree that the 1035 is cheap but the 1039 costs a bomb. They're both in a similar price range imo.

I do agree though that a 1039 style bracelet would be best for the OP from a commercial point of view, but he's already confirmed he's making the 1035 style in both 19mm and 20mm which is exactly what a 1039 is.

True, but the critical thing is that the last proper link on the 1039 needs to be 20mm, not just the end link.

It should be easy to provide sizes of each link if required, these are 1506 and 1039 - bought when prices where significantly cheaper than now

The selection is great: somehow exotic with the Holzer bracelet and pure classic with the Flat Link bracelet!

I'm looking forward to seeing the project become a reality and can not wait to see the bracelets in the Uncle Seiko shop.

Just a suggestion here @unclepenn1. I would advise to have the brand name Uncle Seiko quite discreet (like inside the buckle). People (well, me 馃榾 at least) tend to prefer when bracelets are totally consistent with watches, including design and logo. So as you're probably not allowed and unwilling to put the Omega logo, I would kindly suggest a blank buckle with your logo inside. Only a suggestion of course.

OK, I have decided on the two bracelets I want to make in the near future.

1. The Mexican Holzer Bracelet. The moment I saw it I knew I wanted to make it. Thanks to the guys who brought it to my attention. I want this on my Speedmaster!

2. The 1035 Flat Link. Another dreamy bracelet that has that amazing vintage-y goodness.

My plan is to make them for the FOIS 19mm and Modern Speedy 20mm.

I will need help acquiring both of these. Would anyone be willing to post a WTB for me on the WATCH PARTS AND ACCESSORIES forum? I am unable to do so, probably because of a low post count. You can include my email address in the listing ([email protected]). Maybe respond below if you can do that, so there aren't multiple posts?

Man, this is exciting. I can't wait to get started! 馃榾

Yes !

It's been a long time since I wait for a reissue of the 1035.
I own some of your bracelets for my Seikos.
Can't wait to see your version of the 1035 !
I will order one as soon it is available, for sure.

Thx for this awesome idea.

Wow, so many responses to try to tackle. First of all, thank you guy for the information and input.

I actually prefer the 1039 after looking them over, and I think I will use my 1035 and adjust the non-removable links to have the larger taper of the 1039. It just looks cooler to me and has more of a vintage vibe.

I am unable to post a WTB on the forum, and I asked a moderator and he agreed that I could not. SO, I will ask again. Can one of you post that for me (for the Holzer) so I can try to acquire one of those? Reply here if you do it so that we can all know it is done.

I also agree about the UncleSeiko logo, and wasn't planning on putting it on the outside, but I did plan to do it on the inside in the same style as the Omega bracelets (with US1039 as the reference number!). 馃榾 My only concern is leaving the outside blank. Would that be preferable? I definitely would not use the Omega logo but I wonder if I should have something else?

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my brand and products!

I actually like the UncleSeiko logo on the clasp like the Z199, and that wouldnt put me off buying one for an Omega with that logo on, but I guess something like the Z199 but without the logo is going to be the preferred choice.

If you turn that upside down it look sort of like Omega. 馃榾

I would prefer that style of clasp too.

True. This inverted Omega suits well! It's very opportunistic actually. If it were called Auntie Seiko, it would be more tricky.
