....

I also agree about the UncleSeiko logo, and wasn't planning on putting it on the outside, but I did plan to do it on the inside in the same style as the Omega bracelets (with US1039 as the reference number!). 😀 My only concern is leaving the outside blank. Would that be preferable? I definitely would not use the Omega logo but I wonder if I should have something else?

...

@Uncle Seiko

Personally, I would have preferred had it been either 1) left blank or 2) a totally different logo than the one being used.
The only thing that kept me from getting this bracelet is the logo for obvious reasons.
Sorry to be blunt but If I were the producer of these bracelets, I would be annoyed (if not hurt) seeing people buying my bracelets and then seeing them exchanging the clasp.
My suggestion to Uncle Seiko is, come up with an original logo. One that people won't need or want to change. A logo to be proud of wearing.
@Uncle Seiko, please take this as honest constructive criticism.[/QUOTE]

I actually don't agree at all. The US logo in my opinion looks great and is a nice nod to the Omega original. I really don't think people change the clasp because it is ugly, but rather because they want to have an omega original logo on it, this should not bother anyone as long as we don't see scams in the future (people marketing and selling them to new enthusiasts with it marketed as omega original).

I can't wait for mine to arrive and wear it with the US logo proudly. Let's not forget it was made for enthusiasts longing for a nice AM alternative, and at $89 I really don't see the point to be other than happy 😀

I have absolutely no problem with the US logo and I too think it’s pretty cool how he changes his logo depending on the target watch (Eg the Seiko wave, Omega Ω (U)ncle. Just for the record I am doing this mod for myself and would never think of trying to sell the US bracelet and Omega clasp as an original. I’m just being a perfectionist and like to tinker.

But that is exactly the problem here.
You say that you have absolutely no problem with the US logo but then admit that you're about to mod it.
Fine. It's your bracelet and it's up to you to decide what to do with it.

But, if the logo was different to the one being offered, something unique, something original. Not an almost, not seems like, would you still change the clasp?
My guess is, some would still do it. If it's unique, I wouldn't !
Do you get my point?

... Omega Ω (U)ncle. ...

That is not the correct U that is being used on the US clasp, hence my post above.

Well it kind of is, just a matter of orientation . For me, if I wasn’t modding, my preference would be for the existing logo, not some other “unique” logo, but that’s just my preference.

The original 1171 has hollow mid links and end links that don’t fit all that well. The uncle Seiko has solid mid links and perfect fitting end links. I’m modding to create the perfect 1171 which is the best of both worlds and is not easily distinguished from the original, but is better quality at 1/3 the cost of the original.

... at 1/3 the cost of the original.

In the end, that is what it is all about.

BoR fitted. It was... challenging to say the least. Sizing, fitting, everything. Even broke my bracelet pin tool so can’t size my flat link.

If it makes you feel better or empowered in some way to make assumptions about, and misrepresent the motivations of someone on the internet who you know absolutely nothing about then go ahead. I mentioned about 4 reasons why I was doing it, making it clear financial savings were a bonus reason. You chose to ignore all my other reasons and distill it down to me being “cheap”, and did so publicly in what I can only think was intended to humiliate me on some level? I’ve spent 4K on the watch, spending $400 on a genuine 1711 is peanuts. As stated, I hate the hollow mid-links and ill fitting end-links that this would entail, hence the solution I am trying to achieve.

No. No humiliation intended to you or to anyone else.
Please go to my last Thursday's post, maybe you missed my point.
In the meantime, I hope you achieve your goal, seriously.

Flat link fitted and I think we have a winner. Love it. The clasp is a perfect fit for this bracelet. FWIT I think uncle Seiko got the logo and branding spot on with it. I understand why some might want an omega clasp but for me there is absolutely no need whatsoever.

No need to apologise IMO. Once a cat pic is deployed on here, all hatchets are buried.

Same i purchased an entire clasp, a good deal on this 1035 at $75.

That is a really good price. Was that eBay?

Bought my Pro on leather strap, so US flat link was a great option! I've found it easier to install with some thinner spring bars than the ones supplied or the Omega ones.
