    450 Canadian Dollars?

Case perhaps a bit polished but everything else looks fine as far as you can tell from the not so good pictures..

    I say: Buy it...

I agree - seems like a good deal to me. This is a jumbo case reference, which is uncommon and tends to add value. Condition and originally look good - probably polished but I think I can still see relatively sharp bevels on the lugs. I’d go for it. In fact, let me know if you don’t!

    Do you like it?

Have you researched the reference number on Google etc?

ok so i asked the guy when it was last serviced he said 6 months ago. his answer kind of irked me. I then go online and continue to google the model and bam right there April 23, 2018 on Watchuseek forums is this exact watch. Pretty sure i dodged a bullet on that one

How did you determine it was the same watch? Same pics? Same serial? I assume not the same seller?

Someone else asking the same question about the listing your asking about doesn’t seem strange. Where is the original listing for sale and what makes you think it’s fishy?

the question on the watchuseek hyperlink that i supplied above is from april 23, 2018 which is a year and a half difference between its current listing on letgo (a sales app). the guy selling it says it was serviced 6 months ago. the pics used in that forum and the ones that are posted right now on letgo are exactly the same. which tells me there must be something wrong with it. plus if he has been trying to sell it for a year and half i highly doubt he serviced it in the middle of his sales time-frame.

All safe deductions. In this hobby, trusting your gut is just as important as doing your homework- you have done both here.

I don’t see anything strange here. After owning the watch a while, the seller probably decided he didn’t enjoy the bubbling on the dial and the polished case. I know I wouldn’t.

I'm also not seeing anything fishy, but then again I assumed the WUS poster was the owner, not another prospective buyer. I have a 1966 Japanese Seamaster (non-jumbo) with the same amount of bubbling on the dial and it looks great on the wrist. The watch in these photos was serviced in Japan in the 1970s, so it probably spent a significant portion of its life in the same conditions as mine. I don't think the polishing is excessively aggressive and I would think the watch would wear extremely handsomely on a properly nice band. Your mileage may etc. but I wouldn't hesitate to spend CAD450 on the OP watch.

I also think this watch is not overpolished. It is just polished.

    price is also very fair

The WUS poster was another prospective buyer. I messaged the seller again he said that he had posted it a few years ago with no takers. Will that bubbling be a problem?

Need better pics but I don’t see it. If it’s slight corrosion under the surface of the lacquered dial, and the case is water tight now (fresh case seal and crown which should be done at service), it won’t get any worse and frankly can be considered part of the charm.
For reference- here is an example of a stellar Constellation of mine with the stippling under the lacquer. It doesn’t bother me and is only visible in certain light.

If the seller is legit and he wants $450 for it, then I think it’s a good price. If he has been sitting on it for a a while, you could make a lower offer.
