Need help with identifying this Constellation Calendar

Hi guys, I picked this up the other day on impulse - I kind of liked the dial. Can't find anything about it on these forums though.

The dial looks like a cross between a domed dialled Connie and a Seamaster Calendar?

The case and lugs - too good to be true on a watch of this age? A replica case, perhaps?

Thanks for helping!

To get more information, please have someone open the watch for you, and then post photos of the inside of the caseback and of the movement, clearly showing all numbers.

It certainly looks like a ref 2943 to me with a cal 504. a well aged dial but a case in really excellent shape.

OP, do you have a picture of the case back?

I tried googling and most ref 2943 do not have that crosshair on the dial.

I thought only Seamasters had the crosshair.😀

Here's my '60 2943 without crosshair:

Notice the spelling of 'Chronometer' in contrast with yours. My sense is that yours is from earlier in the production run, perhaps by as much as three years.

Here is my 2943 cal 504 from 1968. The crown is probably a contemporary replacement.

Your case looks very nice to me, and the dial looks original.

Did that beautiful bracelet come with the watch? What should the correct bracelet and endlink codes be, if you have them? Thanks 😀

Yes I had noticed that as well. And also the inconsistent upright M and sloping M fonts right above/below each other!

The bracelet is stamped 1502, with lugs stamped 11. I do not know enough about bracelets to tell you it is original, but it certainly came with the watch when I bought it. My understanding is that in the 1950s when these watches were sold, they would have come with a leather band as standard, and the purchaser would have been offered the BOR bracelet as an upgrade by the dealer.
This article from Desmond Guilfoyle's site explains more: http://users.tpg.com.au/mondodec//Omega_Constellation_Accessories_Part_2.pdf
I am sure that there are members of this Forum with much more detailed knowledge who could advise on the most appropriate BOR bracelet for our watches. In the meantime, don't rush into buying one online as there are more than a few variations, including copies, and they are not cheap.

This capped '59 ref 2846 . . .

. . . belongs to a former co-worker. It was handed down to him by his father who bought it from a jeweler ~ 1960. When he showed me the original paperwork, the receipt indicated an additional charge for the bracelet.

Didnt know they made 2943 in 1968, thought it was more like late 50s?

Best regards

I think it was a typo and should have read 1958
