Need help on a vintage constellation

Hi All,

Would really appreciate some advice on a vintage constellation I came across on eBay and was thinking of buying. Priced right now around $600 US which seems almost too good to be true.

Also no pictures of the movement nor any reference made to the ref number or manufacturing year.

Would really appreciate anyone’s thoughts and advice regarding authenticity/pricing!

Thanks a ton in advance 😀

Shouldn't it say "officially certified" under the "chronometer" ?

Here is an enhanced and enlarged picture. It doesn´t look so bad in my eyes.

Really difficult to assess properly with those blurry pictures.

If the hands are original, then the dial isn’t (and vice versa)
Minute ticks are probably too close to the ‘pie pan’ edge for this reference (and inconsistent in distance from the edge)
Second O in Chronometer is not centred on the M as it should be.
Impossible to tell if the font is serifed as it should be.

It’s a black dial - always caution first.....

Hands don’t look right either. This seems to be a “bitsa watch” as in, a bitsa this and a bitsa that...😬

I’d run away.

A very high percentage of black dial vintage Constellations are redials. Caution advised.

From those low res pictures I'd wager on a 14381 with original dial. Unfortunately the rest is a bit of a mess, wrong crown, wrong hands, gold cap missing from the case, etc. So although it's been in my watch list since it was listed it isn't something I'll be bidding on.

Here's my very similar 14381 for comparison
