    Hi,
I just bought this Seamaster. Serial looks OK (1960's) and caliber 562... My concern is about the hands, maybe something else? Give me your thoughts. Thanks!

I stopped looking after seeing what a mess the movement is, mismatched parts, broken regulator...

    Return it if you can.

They had to break the regulator needle off so they could retard it enough to "keep good time".

To the OP, it's a bit of a dog. Bad redial, wrong hands, badly dinged bezel and over polished case and as noted, the movement could be a money pit.

    Return it if you can.

These have a two-piece regulator. Set the indicator in the middle of the scale and move the tail to bring it to time. Might have been carelessness on someone's part. You say you bought it? Any chance you can return it?

I had to wonder, did you have no concern before you bought it?

I wonder how many established members create a new account to ask about a questionable watch because they want to keep their reputation intact? @Julen clearly knows something about watches, but has been around for just a few hours (at the time of this post).

Isn't "SWISS MADE" usually outside the second markers?

There is lume on the hands, but no T-swiss made-T on the dial - that alone should make you nervous. Crown is also definitely wrong.

I think the OP got what he deserves. Don't bother to do any research before buying a piece of shit, you'll likely end up with a piece of shit.

    Return if possible.

The good thing is I made a my purchase a good conversation piece... On this forum..
I believe I can return it. Thanks to all. I did some research, I'm. Not an expert and the movement (besides broken) looked legit, at least on serial and automatic...
About the hands... I don't understand "There is lume on the hands, but no T-swiss made-T on the dial - that alone should make you nervous" what does that mean? Again thanks and will let you know if I can return it... Will post here before purchasing.

There's no T Swiss T as the hands are not the right style for the watch. Hands would have been Daphine pitched with black inlays

@Julen, while not a comprehensive guide, reading this thread will answer some of your questions.

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/learn-how-to-fish.52603/

It's not that we don't want to help new members evaluate a potential watch purchase, but if you don't do a bit of leg work yourself, you'll end up posting a lot of watches which, to experienced collectors, are obviously bad examples.

Nobody want that - we'll grow tired of you and stop responding to your post and you won't learn anything at all and still make a lot of mistakes. This hobby demands that you do some research prior to pulling the trigger.
