Need Help IDing Vintage Seamaster

Hey guys,

I recently found this watch at a yard sale and was wondering if you guys could help me to ID it. I went through the database on the Omega site and the closest thing I found was the CK2848. I'm not sure if this watch is the legit or not, but it's in working condition and I really like it. One big downside is it bears an inscription on the back, but if I'm wearing it that doesn't really bother me. In the case that it is legit what would you guys recommend I get done to it if I want it looking good? Thanks for your help!

Step 1. Get the "twist-o-flex" band off before it does more damage.
Step 2. remove caseback and show us the movement and the inside caseback..
Step 3. get it cleaned, oiled and adjusted.
Step 4 . buy nice strap.
Step 5. wear it for 5-8 years asking wife who "Jeremy" is.
Step 6. sell for twice what you paid to some dude named "Jeremy"..

Thanks for the quick reply UncleBuck. Why would the band do damage to the watch? Any idea how much steps 3 and 4 should cost? What would you estimate the value of this thing at?

Seems like a 2576 cal. 342/344 from the 1950s, it looks like a great watch. Love the engraving!

Just hazarding a guess here, 1958 😝. Waffling on the dial is nice as is what looks to be the original crown. Like UncleBuck says, won't know more until we see the insides.
Fix-o-flex band can scratch the case. Nice leather band from Hirsch can run as little as $25, go with black or tan/golden brown (Hirsch Ascot is elegant and can be casual or sporty, I'm a fan of the unstitched Teju lizard myself). Cost of service can vary widely, from very little if it's been serviced recently to a couple hundred if not. If you bought it at a yard sale, you probably got a really great deal, congrats!

This really made me laugh, btw:

Either somebody really loved Jeremy, or Jeremy really loved himself.

Yes, but everyone who _knows_ him calls him Jeremy. Jerry is just a nickname.
