I need help identifying the worth of a sea master I found searching through a box full of stuff. I already looked in eBay for the same model but I can’t find it so this is my last resort as the ones on eBay have a day/date while mine only has the date. If someone on here can help I’d greatly appreciate it!

The eBay watch is automatic and yours is quartz. Like comparing apples and oranges.

Omega quartz watches from circa 1980 do not have a great market value. Maybe $200 maximum, if working.

One watch is mechanical. The other is quartz (electronic.) Apples and oranges.

Both are in TV style cases. Popular in the 1970s.

The top watch has an integrated bracelet. The bottom watch a spring bar strap.

Only by opening the watch and reading the movment number can one tell what it really is.

We posted at the same time. I paused to re read my comment. Of course great minds think alike. Or as the Wright brothers said, "When it is time to build bicycles; People build bicycles."

I just bid 120 a few hours ago for a similar watch. Sold for 122 as I forgot to check at the end. So that is probably close to what these currently go for.

Oh alright thank you for your help! It’s not currently working as for some reason the only things that move are the hour hand and the date the minute and second hand are like sort of stuck in a loop, they move very very slightly and then go back to where it was.

If the watch is a 1342, then the hour (and date) is magnetically coupled. The minute hand is moved by pressing the center button on the crown in. This moves at different speeds depending on how long the button is pressed. Without power, the minute hand and seconds can not be set.

FWIIW: I bought another one of these over the weekend with a round case. You can see how little they sell for.

I have been seeking out this caliber. The motor seems to fail, so they get picked over. As I work with micro electronics, I have been experimenting with them. You can look at my other posts to see some of the discussion on them. Searching "1342" on these forums can also bring up the complex setting guide.

They are early in production, so closer to a mechanical watch than the later models. Strong magnets are used to couple things and the motor coils. Probably as the tiny motor can not overcome the canon pinion slip.
