Need help identifying an inherited watch

I recently inherited a gorgeous Omega watch from my father, who was born in the 1930's, but I do not know when he acquired it. Hoping someone can tell me about this watch, which looks like a precursor to the Seamaster. See attached photos. I note that it does not have "Swiss Made" on the dial, so I'm thinking it may date to the 1940's. There are no markings on the back. It is stamped 14K. I have not tried to remove the back because I'm afraid to damage it - would there be a reference number and/or caliber number inside? Thanks in advance for any insights.

There should be both along with case and movement serial numbers All of these are critical to determining the age.

Interesting that the case has both Swiss and American "14K" hallmarks. Not sure if the dial is original or a repaint.

I know nothing about vintage. But, something is not right here. No swiss mage and Omega font does not look correct. Maybe more experience members can comment. I apologise if I am incorrect

The dial appears to be repainted IMO. In any case, most of the information will be inside. I like the case.
