Hello! I need a little help finding a crystal for a omega Seamaster 166.0215.1

How do I know the part number or where can I find a sapphire replacement?

A sapphire crystal is not necessarily interchangeable with a non sapphire crystal. You Omega appears to me to have an acrylic crystal. If that is a fact, the case probably won’t accept a sapphire crystal.

Well not necessary a sapphire but it would be nice if it’s possible, just trying to find a new crystal whether it’s the original acrylic or a mineral or sapphire to upgrade it, just don’t know how to figure out the part number and where to find it

This should be what you need
Thank you so much for that info! Any advice on where could I find one to buy?

I will never understand why people buy a vintage watch and then want to modernize it.

And I would definitely NOT consider mineral glass an upgrade to acrylic. Glass is the absolute worst, IMO. It scratches badly and you can't polish it easily.

I would say that maybe on the MK series it might be a nice upgrade the put the aftermarket sapphire crystals as the mineral is very scratch prone .
but personally i have never tried using them so i'm not sure about the quality

If I have a badly scratched mineral glass crystal, I will replace it with aftermarket sapphire. Usually that's the only choice available these days, anyway, since sapphire crystals are cheap. I have done this on some of my Citizen Challenge divers, polishing the glass is a nightmare. However, I would not "upgrade" a mineral glass crystal that is in good condition.

Well, I like to keep it a vintage and original as possible, I’m not trying to modernize anything at all… i just want to restore it and make it look as good as possible! I was just wondering if there a sapphire option, it would look and be very nice..

Yes that’s what I’m trying to do, and upgrade it with a sapphire aftermarket one. Any idea where can I find one to buy?

of course , if the original mineral is in good condition then i will leave it . for most models there is an aftermarket mineral available along with the sapphire replacement .

we where discussing about watches that had originally a glass crystal and for those it is possible to replace with sapphire .
for watches with Plexiglas crystal it is very unlikely to have the option to put a sapphire replacement .
