Hi!
I have a lovely Seamaster SMPc 300m (REF.212.30.41.20.01.003).
The crystal withstood some years of abuse and has a few scratches, and I have to make a decision, I think maybe one day I’d like to replace it.

I know I should send it for Service and have them replace the crystal along with servicing the rest of the watch but the watch still running great (-4spd).
It’s too early for a Service yet as the watch is less than 5 years old, maybe I should just ask for a crystal replacement?

Or Maybe (preferred solution) I can find one for sale on internet ?
Do you know the watch part number / reference of the AR Coated Sapphire Crystal (and maybe all the other parts of the watch, it’s always good to know) ?

And that's it.

Thanks!
Best regards,
Jeremy

Welcome to OF, Jeremy.

Any watch maker with an Omega parts account may change your crystal for you, but how much money do you think you are saving by postponing a full service? It might be cheaper to have both done in one go, instead of change the crystal now and wait a couple of years to do the service.

Thanks Hen !

How can I find a watch maker with Omega parts account without going through an Omega AD ?
Oh the goal is not necessarily to limit costs but to do it intelligently.
And basically my curiosity was also to know the reference of this part and possibly be able to reference each part of the watch (reference bracelet, case, crystal, hands, ...)

Best regards.

It might help if you were to tell us where in the world you reside. We are not psychic!

Be aware that the crystal will not be cheap. It may well be the same cost again as a full service (the cost for which does not include a sapphire crystal). Omega have massively ramped up the cost of parts like these in the past 5 years or so.

Sorry ! I’m in Belgium mate !

Yeah that’s also the reason why i’d like to have the reference / number parts of the Crystal in order to maybe find a new gen one in the grey market like eBay, forums etc. like I did with the gen ss 1515/816 bracelet as I bought it only with the rubber.

You are very unlikely to find a real Omega crystal for a newer watch on the grey market. And if you do, it will likely be 20-30% higher than what you would pay a watchmaker. The other thing to consider is that many watchmakers won’t be willing to replace something like a crystal (or a dial and hands) without also do a full service. Its not worth their time or the hassle.
