Need expert advice to confirm if this serial number is legit Vintage Omega Seamaster: 17292087

Genuine but in horrible condition. 😲 Appears to have been put together from two or three different movements.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess there seems to be something wrong with the watch dial too?!

Dial is aged, but we've seen a lot worse, at least it hasn't been refinished. More concerning is the huge gap in the tension ring, not supposed to be like that. Case is very polished as well. This one's had a hard life.

It is my (somewhat limited) understanding that the cross hair should not be broken on models of this age, but would pass through the text. I could be wrong, though.

Some debate with this particular reference, I've seen multiple examples of this reference with broken lines as seen on OPs example that I believe to be correct and original.
