·Good advice. I don't know WUS but the sales here tend to be between enthusiasts from this site so everyone has a reputation to maintain and everyone seems very fair and easy to deal with. Look in the watch sales forum but, it may take a little time to get what you want. Good luck.

Eventhough I just bought a cheaply Geneve as my first Omega but I will be in the market in a couple months. But I will not buy anywhere else beside here.
Don't waste your time elsewhere especially WUS or ebay...lesson learned

·Are you in Europe? This watch seems to be in UK. In the EC, you should not pay import duty but elsewhere, you probably will. I can only say from my experience but, bringing into Spain from USA added an extra 22%. I don't know anything about these watches so can't comment wether it is a good deal.

·The reason i'm looking at geneves is really silly. if i saw a geneve vs seamaster vs constellation for roughly the same price (i'm ok with them looks-wise), which would be a better buy?

··ΩF InvestiGatorIn 1974, the Constellation was the top of the line, followed closely by the Seamaster. The Geneve was generally below them both. There were a lot of variations of all three lines, so there was almost certainly some overlap in the original pricing.
However, in today's collector's market it's condition, condition, condition. Therefore, a Geneve in nice original condition is far more desireable than a Constellation in poor condition. All things being equal, the Constellation has more collector appeal, unless the Seamaster or Geneve in question is a specific variant like a Seamaster 300.

·Others have covered the Omega issues well, but I'd like to ask - what is your husband interested in?
I got into watches based on motorsports. Others got into watches based on travel and others still based on sports. Between the price guide and his interests, we could probably nail down the model to get too!

I have one of those. It is a very nice watch, but that dial is not in very good condition. I would look for something else.

To answer Steve88M3's question - ideally, I'd like to find a simple (not too funky), dressy type of watch since that's something my husband doesn't have. My silly reason for preferring a Geneve is that my name sounds close to it and I thought it would be really cool if every time he looks at the time, he'll also see my name! I'm open to any style though, I just really want to find a nice good quality watch with history, something my husband can be proud of.
There's a lot going on at work right now so I may not be able to check back on this thread often. But please keep the advice and also suggestions on possible buys coming.
I read somewhere that it's watch season - is there such a thing? Is now the best time to buy?
