They are more impressive when they have antlers, but it always seems weird to see antelope in Colorado. There was also a bald eagle flying around and looking for fish, at a lake I visited, but my photos were not very good. You had to be there. The attached was the best I got. 🤪

When I was a kid and we lived in the San Luis Valley, it was not unusual to see antelope.

I see them almost every time I am in North Park. This was near Walden.

These flowering plants (my wife assures me they are chicory) are undergoing explosive growth along a trail by my house.

oh no. Not far from where we are homesteading. There is no good suggestions for black bears, run they get made, stand still they get mad and play dead they think it’s a free meal.

I’ve been lucky they are usually focused on something else when I see them and don’t seem to care.

Five of us recently went on a 9 day raft trip on Beaver Creek in central Alaska. Several times we took side trips hiking from the boreal forest along the river where there were good access routes to climb into alpine areas. We arranged for a bush plane to land on a gravel bar at the end of the trip to take us back to the starting point. Here are some flowers I saw as we ascended on one of those days. On most gravel bars that we camped on, there were tracks of wolves, black bears and moose. Fortunately, there were only recent tracks and we did not see them where we camped.

Wow, what a trip.

After 25 years living here, I finally saw a bobcat in the neighborhood. My wife and I were walking our dogs, and they didn't even notice it.

Walrus - Looks like we have something in common besides watches.😁

This black bear passed through our yard about 30 minutes ago. I saw it while on the front porch. My wife was out by the garden and got a surprise close up and brief stair down with it before it slowly walked on.

That’s impressive Dan. Glad the dogs didn’t notice.
