Taken this evening, showing a malformed beak, although the bird seems to be in fine fettle.

New mascot on the farm, this guy wandered in and seems to have decided to stick around. Too friendly for his own good.

Nothing runs like a Deer(e)!

Signs of a healthy colony. This little guy is the second baby we've found in the yard in the past week.

I think these are the largest bracket fungi (?) I have ever seen.. I stuck the end of my trainer in the shot to give a sense of scale, size 11.5 UK (Bundeswehr 1970s Cold War GATs by Adolf Dassler aka Adidas) Are there any mycelia/fungi experts out there who know what these are?
Does the blooming/fruiting get any bigger than this?

Pacific Tree frog. I hear this little guy pretty frequently in the maple tree in my front yard, and he sat for photos this morning on my watch and in my thai chili plant before going on about his day.

Yes, that's a Sceleporus, probably a male fence lizard if you are at Newport Beach, California.

You might hear this called a spiny lizard or a Spiny Swift or a fence lizard. All are good common names. I grew up between Texas and Oklahoma and heard these called fence lizards or mesquite lizards depending upon where you saw it.

Through my window on different days.

I had my arborist leave that extension for my furry friends to sprawl and admire their territory.

Sometimes they just perch and munch my acorns......um, OUR acorns.😁
