The common frogs laid there spawn in my pond last night after a few nights of activity and croaking .
Great Blue Heron Bald Eagle Inspired by her, I wanted to see if I could capture some nice pictures. Not having a camera I used my iPhone 14 with the camera lens held up to the lens of my 8 x 42 binoculars. Not bad results. Very impressive shots achieved without a camera - might be something to consider. There are some lens options for the phone as well although it is probably a slippery slope to a camera anyway. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/moment-iphone-lens,review-5307.html
On the frozen wastes of the prairies of Western Canada, during winter, we find ourselves grasping at vestiges of summer. Vestiges such as the phalaenopsis orchid blooming in our greenhouse. Others soon to bloom (hopefully). Gratuitous watch picture, my A W Co. (American Waltham Co.) 1877 model from 1885, 18-size hunter which is such a joy.
My buddy sent me his most recent round of photos. I think it was Friday he took them. Always amazing. Had a great one of another duck but I think I deleted in error.
Do you have the pro model with the “special camera” or extra lenses? I think I have the iPhone 13 with the regular lens if it really improved wildlife pictures getting the pro model I should probably do that next time. Your pictures are amazing.
I just wanted to share a few pics from my Easter Holiday in Denmark. Råbjerg Mile. Largest moving sand dune in northern Europe. Wow, just found out the guy who took these pictures passed on. He, myself and a small group of others stayed in touch regarding wildlife in the area, hiking trails and weather. It’s really odd I was just talking to him about going with him on a “bird shoot”. No one here new him and tbh I didn’t know him that well but he left us some great bird pictures. RIP Charlie this life is a funny thing it can slip away anytime.
These ponds have been recently been created 8 in total in the country park just behind where I live near Sunderland in the UK to attract the endangered great crested newt . I'm well pleased looking forward to the results next spring , fingers crossed.
