Sadly, my A-11 quit running early Thursday morning. There was a stretch Wednesday night that I thought it was going to be okay, but when I woke up Thursday it was dead. I tried jump starting it with my car but that didn't work. I'm going to see about sending it back to Longines for a refund.

My wife sometimes forgets to plug in the other side of the usb cable into the charger. Any chance the car battery wasn't connected 😖

Oh no! Your Cartier exploded! I should be happy that at least that didn't happen to me.

Oooo...Waltesefalcon! Those Longines models are like dynamite. They get old and crusty and will start sweating nitroglycerin.

Very unstable stuff, nytroglycerin. If the watch appears wet it may not be water.

Best to call the bomb disposal squad to come and deal with it.

Has it exploded yet?
Not yet. I just quit running. If it's not leaking nitroglycerne, as @noelekal suggests, I may have lucked out and will just have to take it to the dealership for a new transmission.

“Everyone” knows when these were issued to soldiers in the Napoleonic wars they came with a potato for charging. I’d be suspicious of any dealer selling one without original box, papers, and potato.

Probably the potato got subverted in the Napoleonic wars to make illegal Vodka by the troops, finding an original period potato could be a drama, maybe there is a conversion kit available from a reputable grower?

I bet a Napoleonic potato can be found on Ebay ... for a price.

You have to be careful with this. I was bidding on one. Turns out it was a yam. Fortunately the Authenticity Guarantee caught it.

It’s a shame what the potato quartz crisis did to these fine time pieces.
