Not going to happen! 😜
Why do you think that? They are out of bracelets from the 40-50s, but they still have the others.

Think I may have found one thru Instagram! Got a dealer in Hatton Garden that also said he has some... Chuffed.

Wow those are amazing. The two tri compax SS with alpha hands are my favorites. One question, in the second to last photo the lower right tri looks like the small buttons on left side of case to set the functions are sticking out. Never seen that, do they click up and down?

Judging by the series number it's a very very early example of the TriCompax.

What do people out there know about this Cal 285???

One of UG's workhorse chronograph movements. Is there anything specific you would like to know?

Thanks for your reply...
So it’s a ‘Universal’ movement? I’ve seen what looks like the exact same movement but was signed with another brand...
Only had it a few days and just wanted a little background on it.

Long story there, but yes, it is a Universal movement, manufactured by Martel and supplied to Universal exclusively at the time your watch was made. Relationship of Martel to Universal not entirely clear (wholly owned or contracted to deliver all output). Universal in turn supplied it to Girrard Perregaux, Jaeger, Vacheron & Constantin, Zenith and maybe some others - the shape of the bridge was usually the only difference. In some cases it retained the 285 designation, in others it was renumbered (e.g. Zenith 146). You could certainly have seen it under one of these other brands

That is fantastic! You have told me more in these paragraphs than I’ve managed to find in days of looking online. Many thanks LouS
Ps...what do you think of my purchase?

Unfortunately it is a redial. Subdial numbers. The gold baton hour marker not aligned with the printed markers etc.

Well Jonatan, you really tickled me...
Here are the "ready to be weared, except one" Universal Genève (montres à complications, so elegant in french, like the brand...) :

And, here are the U.G. "montres à complications" waiting for my attention (less sexy 🙄!)...

Oh ! Just forgot about this one that I'm wearing :

WOW
