It is a beautiful area, been here for 73 years. You might know the answer to this question. Which of the two watch bracelets would you think came with the watch, the 17mm rounded link or the 18.7mm flat link ?

The flatter 1175 is plausibly original. In any case, I like it. You will need 640 end-links IIRC.

Given that serial number, I have to ask ... does the dial look brown in the sunlight? BTW, I have 29115371, pretty close.
No, it does not appear to be brown.

Depends on ultimate goal and how much time and money you have. As stated Omega/Nesbit's will replace the dial and most likely the hands. If you want it to look like new, send it to them. But if you want to keep it original either send it somewhere else or go the restoration route.

Nesbit's won't automatically replace the dial and hands, it depends on their condition when they disassemble the watch. I had Nesbit's do an overhaul on my 1973 MKII last year, I had a long discussion with Jan on how I wanted to proceed. Watch came back with the original tritium dial and hands. If they had had problems with a deteriorated lume on the hands they would have replaced them, but they worked to save the original hands. There is always a benefit with being able to talk to someone at the repair facility, Nesbit's is good in that regard.

I have 47 end links that came with the watch. They are the only end links I have ever had.

Actually, that sounds fine. I had a 2960XXXX 145.022-69 that came with what looks like the same bracelet (unmarked 1175) and 47 endlinks.

Sounds as if they may be finally shaking off the service centre mentality. If so that’s good news.

The more I look at this watch the more confused I become. The 29115318 serial number indicates a manufacturing date of 1969-71.
I was looking at the bracelets that I have, both number 12. The one bracelet is stamped 4-77, and the other is stamped 0-80. Are these stampings manufacturing dates ? Why would newer bracelet come on older watch ? Any ideas ?
