Someone told me that there were a few suspect racing dialed Speedies floating around Europe...now I believe it.

    Btw...can I send you a few dials

As long as it remains as pictured, replicas are easy to spot.

    Agree

It is very hard to replicate to factory any dial like this - possible yes, but then again all Racing dials have extracts.

Hmmm??? It looks really good. A very impressive bit of work... but then when you put the picture side by side with a picture of a genuine racing dial watch there is something about the colour tone that, at the moment, feels a bit rich??? Give it 50 years for the colours to settle down a bit. Anyway... very interesting project though.;)

My dial I am sure will not stand scrutiny from experts because it was never my intention to replicate the dial as close to original.

Impressive. Looks like dials can be printed off like flyers. Looks a sort of mix between the grey racing dial and the speedmaster reduced racing dial. Fortunately, detials may still reveal the refinishment even if it was intended to replicate existing model. For example, looks as if the red outer ring is not centered perfectly wrt the seconds marks all around the clock. But I guess it will come the time that these details will be hardly distinguishable.

Yes it was not an easy job. The dial restorer took over a month and a couple of sample prints before I was satisfied with the end result.
