Time capsule! I find it amazing that people get watches like this new and for some reason never wear them? I guess it is good for us enthusiasts that find them like this any years later. Congratulations!
A watch “like this” new wasn’t the hot popular price sky-rocketing item like it is today.

I don’t think these were necessarily bought by people who would “never wear them”, maybe they were worn but only special occasions?

Many people on this forum buy modern watches, many of them, and some are rarely worn. They have no clue if any of those rarely worn pieces might someday become very desirable and hence someone else’s “barn find” decades from now.

I have 3 lovely Speedies, I wear each of them, but very rarely. I end up putting on certain favorites and keeping them in for weeks, with a Speedy getting pulled out for a special occasion.

Oh this is incredible.I remember an experience like this, but remove several zeros from the transaction price. It was a 60s Longines Conquest so compete and so fresh you could practically feel the history oozing out of it. Ended up letting it go though because I couldn't bear to wear it, and I couldn't bear to keep watches I did not wear.

One thing I've learned is that you should throw your watch money away towards what makes you happy, who cares what anyone else thinks. I'm lucky that as a one who also sells, I was afforded the opportunity to make many, many mistakes on what was desired by many ie what "I thought I liked".

Pure beauty in all its forms. Love the watch, the package and the story........curious what this would go for in such a market, has to be close to collector.....the dial looks so nice, not mouldy at all. Nice pick up 👍

I'll bet this ain't a bad guess 😉

Would you take $5,000 for it? 😁😉
I'll bet you'd need to add a zero to that 😉
