    Why Speedmaster? Background shortly: First of all, I have no experience about collecting watches. I have not even used to wear watches. I tryed to use Sport & Healthy ones (Polar Loop), but downloading updates is not my thing and I could check accurate time from my mobile. Ok, why to buy Speedmaster, if not interested about watches?

    Who said that? I'm mad about timeless industrial products. Talking about timeless products with watches is little bit funny, but hope you got my point. Well yes, I'm industrial designer and my philosophy is to prefer timeless things. But Speedmaster for me is important from the car racing and of course from NASA space program. I'm also intersted of classic cars. My favorite from the child hood is 1969 Corvette. Yes, exactly the same kind which was in the Buzz Aldrins garage. I have this car on my garage too, so the watch to wear must be 105.012-65...

    So I bought the watch from the collector who bought it from the first owner last January. Watch has been serviced 15 years ago at Omega Factory. The history of the watch is clear from 1967 when sold in Finland. It has wrong hands, but othervise its looking pretty good and all the functions are working. I'm going to take to service soon, just for check.

    Hi!
    Excellent choice and congrats!!!
    You have to change the sweep second hand because it will give a more desirable look to the watch, I rather prefer the flat links bracelet but this one suits very well too!
    A good mechanical watch with prompt service when it is needed can last for good!!
    :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    It is not the same watch.

    I was looking for the right on few months before I made decision to buy it. Yes, it is investment. Atleast I do want to believe so. Time will tell, if this were a investment...

    Reason why I decided to buy it was simple. There were 2 candidates for sale in Finland. I was going to check another 105.012-66 with 'light' NASA connection. Asking price were 12,5k€. It went in a week!!! So I checked main earlier and I pretty much know what I was buying. And price were somewhere nearby of low asking prices in the chrono24. I gave also value for buying watch nearby, so I did not had to spend day or two traveling around Europe or US finding the right watch for me.

    Bracelet is from seventies 1171/663, so it did not belong to this watch originally. Actually this watch were equipped with leather band. From the collecting point of view I would be interested of original leather band or period matching JB Champion bracelet (the same Buzz were wearing). Indeed the design of the watch is screaming for flat links.

    I already bought authentic hands from eBay. That is one similarity with classic vehicles. You can always find parts somewhere and make it right. Of course it is not same, if you have original authentic parts, but its better than totally wrong ones.

    In the end there is a picture of my precious: 105.012-65 Omega Speedmaster Professional and #match 1969 small block Corvette
