It would be a surprise if that bezel is not legit. Although you dont see these often I think blue bezels did exist. Did you find similar examples on the web? The bezel got a nice faded color which can only be caused by time (although some people throw bezels in the oven to get a ghost color).

Seller is asking for 3000. A bit high I think, what do you guys think?
As usually the black bezel examples go away for 1500-2000.
Yes exactly, all pieces should be in the bag. So no issue on this side in my opinion. Crown and glas are replacements as well. But did not find much information on the blue bezel.

Here as well a couple if pictures of the movement.
In my opinion everything looks legit (hands and crown are in the bag).
Just that the price is a bit too high.

We all balk at the price of $3k (which I too think is too high), but with a factory service (if he can show paperwork), the original parts, and the rarity of a blue bezel- that could add $1k to the value theoretically.

I agree. 3k sounds high, but the 120s are often overseen by collectors and owning a nice example with a rare bezel might pay off in the future 😉

"Black date on white background. wrong."

Sorry to be a pedant mmpass but I'm pretty sure the white background in the date window is OK, check this out, a 166-027 from the Omega website vintage watch page

https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-120-st-166-0027

Unless someone hacked the Omega website and inserted a picture of a fake / non-original 120 Seamaster to maybe support their own sale of a fake / non-original on eBay - quite unlikely

Pictures on the website come from the Richon's book where half of the seamaster divers are fake or franken...

So if even Omega can't be trusted is there no authoritative source on authentic SM120s? This thread seems to go back & forth on the matter.

The Omega vintage website is known for having plenty of incorrect and missing information, it is not god of it's own universe. It can be a useful tool but best used with other corroborating sources, like this forum.

So, @X350 XJR or @Shabbaz - did they come with both white and black date wheels?

Based on the numbers of nice original watches I've seen, white on black vs black on white, I believe they are correct either way. I have had them both ways myself.

I also think white on black date and black on white are both correct.

Agreed
Given the company is renowned for it's attention to detail and perfection down to a level the human eye can't properly see unaided, and the authenticity of one of their watches is something they hold as high as the quality of the product itself, it does seem a bit clumsy and incompetent to show an actual blatant fake product in the place of a genuine one, and one that is so often copied and faked, and attracts such attention. maybe writing to them and getting a definitive answer would only settle it. There's 19 pages of comments about the watch so far, just in this thread

Hi all. Thanks for the valuable info on this thread, I was considering this watch for sale just down the road from me. But now see it as a fake. Am I correct in assuming as much ? (Seller is claiming a fully restored watch). No pic of movement.
