Great story, looking forward to seeing final pics.

Would you mind sharing cost for redial?
Thanks - me too. The redial, and the rest of the refurb actually, is being done by a guy in Norfolk called Roberto who charged me £70

That's not a bad deal, the local vintage specialist here in Brisbane charges $450 =(

International Dial in Ohio charges as little as $35, but they're best for Hamilton dials. I might have found somebody in NYC for Omega, but further details as events warrant.

JLC charges $900 and they're work is fantastic.

I've just received a photo of my Dad's Omega that he bought new in 1962 and which was allowed to deteriorate during the 1990's.
What do you think?
I'm really looking forward to collecting it later in the week

Beautiful looking watch. Just hope that when I get mine back next week it will be as good a job as that.

Hi - my magician's name is Roberto Facchini and you can find him at www.watchdialrestoration.co.uk. I was just incredibly lucky to have found him living 20 minutes from my house!

Ok - final instalment of this story...
Today my family and I went for Christmas Eve lunch with my parents, during which I returned this watch to my 74 year old father.
To say that he was delighted and surprised would be something of an understatement and he's just 'phoned to thank me again and to say that it was like being reunited with "a long lost friend".
This whole experience has been incredible from start to finish and has brought a great deal of pleasure to my whole family - isn't a great watch a truly wonderful thing?
