    Hi @hugoafonso

I actually found this watch in 1994 at the Georgetown Flea market ! when I was living in Va.. It was actually the first item I bought after my parents home was robbed ( two years earlier ). I remember a seller had it out and two guys had it in there hands.... I was just waiting for the to put it down... They did and walked away , I picked it up and bought it, and then put it in my pocket.... The two guys came back like 5 mins later... to find out it GONE ! they were shocked ! I then just walked away....

    Its a keeper.

    best

Great story Bill ... could you further turn us green by sharing (if you can remember, and don't mind to) roughly what this flea-market score cost you in '94?

    Thanks!

You were wise not to grab a quick profit back when you bought this. I remember around 10 or 15 years or so ago a fellow member of VRF from NY had one of these NOS complete with box and papers. You might remember him. Mr.Minto on ebay. Nice guy. He listed it on ebay and it sold for around $3500 which we thought was an astronomical price. I teased him a couple years ago and reminded him of the watch and he said he still has PTSD reactions when he thinks of it. :D

Awesome story, never hurts to carry cash. My dad picked up a 1981 5513 from a vendor at the fleas, about 2002 maybe. Came with box, anchor, booklets, and the wrong papers. He paid $1200, but doesn’t wear it because it didn’t have a date. So I use it when it’s not in the bank.

I never go anywhere without it. My biggest fear is to be somewhere, spot a deal and lose out to someone else better prepared to ante up on the spot. This fear greatly outweighs any concern over carrying around cash. I have prevailed in many a deal simply because I had the quickest cash.
