Hello! This is my first post and an exciting one for me. I’ve had many different Omega models, both new and vintage and I thought I’d share a special one with you all.

This is my 1961 Omega Constellation Pie Pan, ref 14393 6 SC with original papers and certificate of high precision denoting especially good results (the highest grade of certification given). It also has a vintage Omega box though I do not know if this came with the watch in 61. I spoke with the Omega Enthusiast previously and he said it may have been original if the boutique ran out of the standard box (apparently not unheard of) .. anyways, I digress, This watch was purchased on December 22, 1961 by the original owner as shown in the warranty book, the serial number denoted matches both the movement and chronometer certification and as I’ve been wearing it as my daily the last few months, I can tell you it keeps fantastic time. The dial is in original condition with applied Arabic numerals (a personal favorite) and it has not been refinished. There is some nice patina on the dial that only adds to its charm. Regarding the T mark, according to Desmond of the wonderful Constellation Blog who was kind enough to answer a few questions I had “The legal cut-off date for the use of radium was in 1962, but there is evidence Omega was using tritium in dials earlier.”. The crystal is new (had a recent service) and the crown though not original (unfortunate) is vintage and Omega. The 10 sided original crown came with the watch when I purchased it though the threads are not good hence the replacement. The case back is worn from many years of love and wear and the beating heart of this watch looks wonderful, is a calibre 561 and the serial number is very clear and visible. It is currently on a later 7 bead Omega no12 Beads of rice bracelet which completes the piece nicely. Lastly, the BOR bracelet had end-links that weren’t quite right when first added, that problem has now been rectified but for you eagle eyed viewers that is why some pictures have additional gap. Thank you all for reading! I hope you enjoy. Cheers

That watch was sold exactly thirty days before I was born.

That is one hell of a watch. Congrats. I have yet to own a vintage full set. Those Omega ones are hard to come by!

It deserves a 5 row BOR

Thanks -- hahaha you know, I've been considering picking up another modern dive watch so this may be up for sale sooner rather than later, though I'd imagine a fair bit more than £50 LOL.
