Hi, our mum passed away recently and this watch was in her jewellery that she wore all the time. Please can anyone give me any advice. We've realised it's not as old as we thought with the battery being present. But any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou in advance

Serial number is for ~1981, model case number is on the clasp, 791.917. That movement is from an era where parts are now scarce so if it doesn't work after a new battery has been fitted, it might not be economical to repair. In addition, I note the bracelet is damaged which is a shame as its not easily fixable, at least not cheaply.

Ladies gold quartz movement cocktail watches aren't massively in demand even when mint. As it is, It is worth the gold scrap value. To get a rough estimate, weigh it and subtract ~10g for the movement and glass then multiply the number by £17 to get its value for melt.

If you’re keeping it as an heirloom I’d get it serviced as it looks like the battery has been leaking.

I think you will keep in memory of your mum..it doesn't worth to sell it in my opinion.. Give it to the next generation..
