Hi all,
I decided to part with another vintage watch from my collection which spends almost all its time in the dark of a bank safe.

So I put up for sale this Movado Celestograph with triple date calendar and moonphases.
As many of you probably know, dating a vintage Movado is not a simple task: a nice fellow italian collector, author of a recent and wonderful research on the brand originally published here:

https://orologi.forumfree.it/?t=79454310

helped me to date this watch back to 1946. Reference is R64928, R6 standing for pink gold plating, which is unusual, being the majority of these yellow gold plated.

Another well known thing is that Movados of that era had problems with water resistance so almost none of the dials have come down to us original and in good condition. This one did.

As you can see from the following pics, this piece is all original and has been kept very well and that is why in october 2021 I bought it from an Italian collector.

40 microns pink gold plated snap back original case measures circa 34mm and is in very nice conditions, sitting nice on the wrist with its drilled, fluted lugs. I don't see any loss on the gold plating, neither on the case nor on the original crown. Hands set is original and in good shape, with gold alpha hands and a golden tip for the date. Lug width 17.5mm.

The dial is the real star of the show: two tone, totally original and perfectly readable, without any kind of discoloration or loss. Just an even, warm creamy patina. Colors of the moonphases are still bright and charming. Month and day wheel are in spanish.

Manual winding, famous and aesthetically nice in house 473 caliber was overhauled in 2018, as per inscription inside the caseback, and everything works as it should.

Watch comes on a slightly worn, soft brown lizard band with generic gold plated buckle.

I tried to provide pics in different light conditions, indoor and outdoor. If you need more of them, or any other info, just ask.

Watch and me are located in Rome, Italy.
Since these pieces are seldom seen, it's hard to price them.
Let's try with 1690 euros shipped with tracking code and ensured with Secursus everywhere within EU. Overseas transactions are welcome with shipping costs and modality to be decided with buyer.
Bank wire strongly preferred, a face to face in Rome is possible.

I have some good feedbacks so far on OF at the following links, but plenty of references from other international fora and ebay to provide if needed:

Before pics, thanks a lot OF as usual for the opportunity and thanks you all for looking.
