Dont think seller was aware what he was selling untill he listed it on ebay. Curious what it will bring at a major auction
Personally I think he will get less when it comes up next. It may hammer higher but I doubt he will net more.

Interesting take. There are rumors about Movado chrono's being sold at (much) higher levels but I've never seen one in the open. It may also depend on where it will be auctioned: Phillips or let's say Drouot. In the end you may be right

Time will tell whether this was a legit sale but a very desirable watch it is. Ref 19008. All correct. 2 bidders - both without feedback - drove it up to EUR 46k but a last second bidder won it with EUR 46.050 [there were also geographical bidding restriction so probably only French bidders could bid; which may also explain the 0 feedback bidders]. Link https://www.ebay.nl/itm/276007317176

And it's back!! https://drouot.com/fr/l/23102424-movado-chronographe-reference. Serial not fully disclosed and a bit vague in the picture but it is obviously the same watch

Yeah saw that too! They are sure gonna pay higher auction fees than eBay though so time will tell…I know one of the high bidders is going for it again, the other is walking away. Not sure how many people will fight him for it, he might just walk away with a bargain.

This was now sold for 31k EUR - plus 30% fees - 40.3k EUR

Substantially lower than the ebay sale (46k EUR?) which wasn't pushed through.

Quite a lesson for the seller which obviously became too greedy 😀

What a joke. Seller was already paid for the ebay sale and sent the money back

Called it. 😉

Hope the winner was one of the ebay bidders who are both good guys and good friends.

If they are I suggest next time they flip a coin to decide who bids 🍿

It’s likely not both bidding seeing where it ended up. Or even either of them.

Seller might start believing in karma.

”That’s life” but still a dick move to cancel the first sale.

Absolutely. Wonder what the reason was. Hope for the seller it was not the auction house which convinced him/her to cancel.

Does it matter? The auction house runs a business. It was the seller that got greedy.

The serials are correct and the movement looks kosher. ‘ALL’ I see wrong is the obvious redial and use of the wrong hand on the 60 sec running subdial.
