GMT:
gostang9 rating: 9/10 -- very handy when overseas and jet-lagged (not a perfect score, as some prefer math...)
Date:
gostang9 rating: 8/10 -- very handy filling in landing cards on aeroplanes when sleep deprived
Power reserve:
gostang9 rating: 7/10 -- this seems like a great addition to any watch, whether manual or automatic. For a Speedy, I would
Chrono:
gostang9 rating: 4/10 -- primary benefit being the improved aesthetic of having sub-dials on a watch
--> I have several chrono's, have used them a few times while timing meat on the grill. Each time I found I lost track of time (sizzle, gulp, sizzle, gulp, gulp... ooops, forgot about the sizzle...) and in order to use the manual chrono I had to force myself to constantly think about checking the elapsed time. This caused more stress than benefit so I went back to using a countdown timer on my iphone with alarm.
Moonphase:
gostang9 rating: -3/10 -- the added cost of the Moonphase is better spent on more watches (preferably GMT with date)... 😉
For anyone curious what would achieve a perfect 'gostang9' complication rating of 10/10, see below:
Chrono hand: tracks a second timezone as marked on the bezel (12 is modified to entice those who prefer math over GMT function), 16 is replaced with the mandatory DON featured on any modern LE)
Chrono hour recorder: replaced with 48 hour power reserve, hand rotates once counter-clockwise when watch is wound, reaching full wind in the 'green' zone, each index marks 4 hours of elapsed time since full wind, the yellow zone is reached at 20 hours elapsed time (reminder that a Speedy should be wound once per day), the red zone is reached at 28 hours elapsed time (final notice that the Speedy is no longer carrying enough power reserve to function within optimal performance)
Minute recorder: looks like any modern Speedy, but is actually synced with OF to record # of likes achieved on OF since the last full wind. This counter auto-resets during a wind (ideally once per 24 hours) or after 28 hours of elapsed time since full wind (users who forget to wind, lose all 'likes').
OF 'gostang9' Limited Edition of 969, to be released December 9, 2046 (when I turn 69). 😎
I'm also turning 69 in 2046, do I get one without charge?
Actually, the Moon Phase can be particularly useful for religions that follow the lunar calendar. In Judaism, the first day of the lunar month is a mini-holiday, so when you see your watch moon-less, means it's a holiday! Could also know when Rosh HaShanah is so long as you know which month you are in... Also fun fact that many of the Jewish holidays, such as Passover, begin smack in the middle of the lunar month so seeing your moon in the middle of the month can mean it's time to break out the Matzah!
Any Muslim friends here that could speak about whether there could be any utility to Moonphase for them? 😀

My GO PanoReserve has a power reserve indicator that I suppose has some utility to know if I've remembered to wind it.
