Unusual calendar complication?

I happened to come across this one on eBay. I assume the idea is to rotate the inner bezel so the first day of the month aligns with the appropriate day of the week, and then you can match the day and date for any other day in the month. At first the photos confused me, but I think that's because the first of the month has been aligned with the second Friday in the top ring. If the first of the month were aligned with the first Friday in that ring, everything would line up properly. Or, at least, that's my hypothesis.

I think you're correct. The 1st should always be aligned with the anti-clockwise-most of the upper line of days otherwise, as in this case, 12th to 15th don't align with a day. The days and dates should only be matched with the same radial orientation and the moving bezel (outer) only oscillates by a few degrees, not all the way round. The inner bezel cannot moved because of the cut-out for the date window.

Me, I'd still go for an Uhrenarmbandkalender.
