What about the first LE??

The 1975 Apollo Soyuz. Pure unobtainium.
I could never figure out why these are so hard to come by. Depending on what number you believe 400-500 of these were made which isn't really a very low number. Beautiful dial though.

Was the 1975 Apollo Soyuz the first Limited Edition or the BA 145.022?

It was a numbered edition, not sure if technically it was a limited edition?

Not sure if something like this has been posted yet, but it shows most of the commonly purchased special editions for anyone who wants to see which ones exist and how they look.

Of course there's loads more out there and like someone said, browsing through the Moonwatch Only book and picking your own favourites is probably the best option.

One year later from my original post in this thread, no change in this one being my most favorite LE. I do have one incoming today, can't wait and it will give this one a run for its money, but not convinced that any current LE watches can overtake this one as my favorite.

Silver Snoopy is quite popular and sought after from my limited knowledge. I have to say though, I have not seen a lot of pictures of the 2015 Silver Snoopy here on the forum and I always love checking out the WRUW thread. By contrast, tons of Ultraman and other LE pics floating around. Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough 😕

Cambridge dictionary's definition of Popular = "liked, enjoyed, or supported by many people". i.e. popularity is related to awareness. Based on this, the most "popular" LEs on this forum would seem to be the ones that get written positively about the most and they seem to be the ST1 and ST2. However, as they are among the most recent releases you expect them to get significant airtime.

I think the Albino and Japan Racing are among the best LEs but they don't get covered a lot here in OF or elsewhere. So while they probably won't win a popularity contest they'd give all the other LEs a good run in a desirability contest IMO.

Market price = point where Supply meets Demand

Supply: determined as fixed number of LE, which is what makes it “Limited” in the first place

Demand: number if people that want something

Since supply doesn’t change after LE is released, any increases in price can be attributed to higher demand. The more the price increases, the higher the demand.

If popularity is a measure of how many people want something, isn’t an increase in price a strong reflection of “popularity”? 👎

At the high end we have the Silver Snoopy trading towards $15k and at the low end we have Apollo Soyuz trading just above $7k
1. 2015 Silver Snoopy

...I would not rank this LE Speedmaster on the top 🍿

That means Paul Newman's Daytona is the most popular watch in the world. 🍿

Some of my favorites (the last one is a stainless steel mod based on the 1980 white gold Speedy)

I've got the WG anniversary but not the bracelet version. Please (don't) let me know if you decide to sell. 😁
