Word is: several previously unallocated Silver Snoopy Speedmasters have been located back in Switzerland. 8 are making their way to the USA (4 for the west coast). These will sell immediately, I assume to existing clients that missed out originally, but it wouldn't hurt to ping your local boutique if you are still hoping to get one... at MSRP. To be precise, only 7 are available now
One replied just now. No go, they said. Either they got none of these allocations, or the one they got went to someone who's been paying them MSRP for everything (including DSOTM's and GSOTM's).
1970, not 2000. Omega communicated back in April 2015 that all units had been allocated, but, stuff happens, buyers back out when they have to wait up to 15 months to take delivery, and who knows what else. All I know is 8 for USA, maybe additional for other geo's.
I've e-mailed the two boutiques where I know staff, but neither are east or west coast. Odds are slim, but you never know!
Hopefully they all get listed on the grey market. Maybe it will reduce prices by a little bit so I can snag one.
I'm told by a few other OB's that all the west coast ones are already allocated to wait listed clients. Hopefully Omega does a better job avoiding flippers with next year's LE's. They did better with the CK2998, so I'm hoping they learned their lesson. Many more true enthusiasts got their hands on the CK2998 (even despite the fact that they made 1000 more of them than the Snoopy).
Might be cool to have two. Sent an email to my boutique. Currently hunting interesting pieces in Rome. Grey side meteorite for a little over 9k euro offered yesterday. Jeez, a new Apollo Soyuz waiting for me in Paris, a second Snoopy when I get home and a grey side in Rome, all on one trip. I need to leave the US more often.
With trepidation of opening a big can of worms here... I'll just say that trying to control or manipulate the free market always has unintended consequences that are worse than the original problem. Omega would do well to leave it up to the buyers to decide what they do with their property, and stop worrying and apologizing for it.
I called my local boutique in Canada just to see if there were some potentially allocated here. According to the sales individual there are none, but they have placed my name on the "list". Not sure how deep the list still is considering there aren't suppose to be anything left, but I'm sure I'll be bottom of the barrel considering I'm not VIP and haven't bought something from them before (other than via ADs)... and he was quite frank about that lol. Kinda sucks considering who in their right mind would pay MSRP for their regular lineup when I can go to an AD and work out a decent deal. Good luck to those seeking one. I've been hoping for one at MSRP for a while :/
