路Hello all. I'm new to the forum and looking for some help. I'm a new enthusiastic to vintage Omega watches. I'm hear to listen to this community. Hopefully, learn as well.
So I bought this one a year ago from an antique dealership near my home. Owner said he bought it from an auction and never had it serviced.
The watch appeared to work to me. I was able to wind it up and all three hands moved. It kept time for me. I wore it a dozen times since I bought it. The shop gave me this picture to show me the serial number.
At that time I did not know to ask for a picture of the inside of the caseback. I don't know how to open it. I know I shouldn't try either!!
I took these pictures today (1-16-25), besides the one with the white background. I tried taking the pictures outside. So please look them over and I will ask my questions after.
A few days ago I took this watch out to wear it and the crown unscrewed off. I tried screwing it back on but it keeps coming off. Did I break something? I don't know...can anyone advise me, please? I don't have or know a watchmaker here in CONNECTICUT. Looking for someone because all the local jewelry stores said they would "send it out to their guy".
How original is this watch? The crown doesn't have the Omega symbol! What is the dark stuff on the face by 11 and 12? How is there an indent on the dial. Would a service address these issues?
I want to wear this watch, I like the dial (crosshatching pattern) and the long slim hands. I'm not sure what either are called. The exterior is a little beat up and worn but I like that. I would never want it all polished up like new. 馃憥 But I want the plexiglass polished.
Could someone tell me the reference of this watch? The name of it, perhaps?
Thank-you all for your time!!
