.............Under a magnifying glass it looks like there was something on top of the hand........

Probably mould from all of the humidity there 馃槈.

Good result.

Nice customer service. There is nothing worse than purchasing dream watch, only to realise that there is some visible imperfection like that... I had similar with Seamaster 300, lume was unevenly applied at 9 position and each time I looked at the watch I've seen it. Sold it after 3 weeks... I jist recently purchased Moonwatch 3861 and it is perfect.
Enjoy your new watch!

Oh man.
I was talking with my neighbour across the road a few days ago and he has had it really bad on every ceiling in his place and good for him that he reckons he's got on top of it with some stuff he picked up at the big Green shed.
Done his homework and knows all about what the ingredients are and everything.
I said "we'll see, good luck to you"馃槈

My place is just fine but in contrast I kept all my windows wide open with the ceiling fans on low in reverse 24/7.

Back on topic.
I am most pleased the OP has had the best outcome馃榾

My thoughts in the back of my mind were the little blob was a bit of stray lume from when the hand was made on the OP's watch馃憤

Omega in Brisbane were excellent this morning.
They replaced the watch without any hesitation, sized the new one and had me back on my way in 15mins.
Under a magnifying glass it looks like there was something on top of the hand.

Thank you all for your replies

Thanks for the feedback馃憤
Another good experience from that boutique馃榾
So you're another Brisso then?
There's a few of us floating around here on the forum. The boutique in town is great to deal with everytime I go in there.

Did you happen to notice if they've got any of those new whizz bang Ultra Deep divers in there to have a look at yet?
I'm rather curious about them and would like to try one on馃槈

I didn't notice but they seem to have a solid selection generally. You've got a good reason to drop in now!

I'm happy that the OP got a brand new watch, but I have to be a bit of contrarian on the practice of returning a watch and having the boutique exchanging it for another watch because of a perceived defect. This sets up the situation where no one can be sure of getting a 'brand new' watch from an Omega boutique or AD. What happens to the OP's first watch? Does it get sent back to Omega for inspection and 'touch up' for any tiny marks and re-stickered as new? Or does it get slipped back into the boutique's show case as a 'new' watch, hopefully with all of the links restored? The same is the case for Omega's bought online through their website, you have a 14 day return privilege, but that means it has been played with, manipulated and worn in the wild. A watch can only be NEW once, any other situation means it is a used watch. We just had a poster here who had to return a 'new' Omega because it had a foul smell to it. Personally, I would prefer to buy a watch from an authorized source that does not entertain returns or exchanges because of a defect that occurs, that is what the warranty is for. It depends on which side of the transaction you are on, if you get a new watch because of a chrono hand you perceive as defective....great, if you get a stinky watch because of a previous return, not so great.

I would expect the watches go back to Switzerland and brought up to a merchantable standard and turned around with a re-issued warranty card then distributed into another market.
It would be impossible to tell and the only people that have traceability aren't going to tell and it would be expedient.
For that matter, they may even use the returned watches as training aids and depending on how the watches scrub up would depend on their fate. Of course that would largely depend upon what the watches were returned for.

In the case of the OP's watch the fix would be as simple as it gets and a straight forward re-cycle may see it back on the market within a month.

Oh, that's AWESOME. Great customer service.

It sucks to have to send off a new watch for service (BTDT) and it's always preferable to just get a new one.

I think omega are on a customer service drive. Great job on your watch. Omega gave me a similar experience recently.
