Moisture on the Crystal

I just had my Speedmaster Triple Date serviced about two months ago. Today I noticed that there is moisture on the inside of the crystal. I had it serviced at a local jewelry store and they sent it back to Omega to be serviced. The only exposure the watch has had to moisture was when I washed my hands. Any suggestions? I plan to bring it back to the jewelry store.

Hello,

If your watch is not waterproof, it is possible some moisture came in just washing your hands.
You can open the back and let the movement dry next to some heat source. But if there is actually water in your watch, you have to react very quickly: try to dry it until you give it to your watchmaker. Water damage can occur in only a few hours...

Put it into a ziplock bag of rice which will act like a desiccant and draw out the moisture until you can get it back to a watchmaker.

I was clearing the snow from the car . When I went home, I noticed that the glass was fogged up. I put it in a bag of rice. the moisture was gone.

As recommended, you can dry it out, but the service center screwed up and you should definitely have the jeweler send it back. My experience with the Miami service center, who seem to be a group of assclowns, has screwed up just about everything I ever had sent to them. All needed rework.

Good luck!

LOL! As much as they charged me they should come over my house and pick it up!
