I really fancy adding a flatlink to some of my 18mm lug Seamasters but don’t really want to pay 1035/7912 prices.

I’ve checked Forstner and Uncle Seiko but these guys only do 19mm/20mm sizes.

Is anyone aware of a good modern flatlink in 18mm?

Ah excellent, thanks. I don’t know how I missed that but it should be exactly what I’m looking for, particularly with the hollow end links.

Hmmm. I wonder if this bracelet would work for my 1958 Ranchero 2990 with 18mm lugs. The vintage 7077 bracelet is difficult to find in good condition and crazy expensive.

I think it’ll be a case of try it and see (unless other members can chime in with their experiences of using this bracelet on 18mm Seamasters).
I think I’ll buy one to go on a Seamaster 600 so I’ll update the thread to confirm how fitting went.

I assume one of the issues will be the height of the Endlinks. Speedmaster lugs are taller than many other lugs so it will depend on whether they can be adequately reduced.

Also, you’ll then have a shiny new bracelet on a case that has seen 6 decades or so of wear. That might look a little off. But I guess there’s only one way to find out…

Also good to know that you can add Uncle Seiko endlinks to a Forstner bracelet, if you have one laying around or prefer the stretch that it gives. Added it to my SeaMaster 300. Looks ok, but haven't been able to 'bend' the endlinks into a perfect fit

That’s a very good point.

The Forstner end links fit my WatchCo Seamaster 300 much better than the Uncle Seiko.

That doesn’t concern me too much. I’ve had new bracelets on a couple of vintage watches and it isn’t too glaring unless they’re heavily worn.

A few days in the cutlery drawer can do wonders to scuff up a new bracelet if needed.

The solid ones? They were too wide for mine- perhaps there's a smaller size available than the one I have ..

Yup. If you want the well worn look, just throw the bracelet into a Tupperware with pea gravel (like a media tumbler) and shake until desired effect is achieved. Then spread pea gravel about your garden.

Don't give away all the dealer tricks mate! 😉

I stumbled across this thread when I tried to find the information, whether the Uncle Seiko US1035 in 18mm would fit my new 2648. Eventually I found this bracelet at a good price to test it. Endlinks have been adjusted a little but the fit is actually quite good.

I would like to exchange the clasp cover for one from Omega in the future. The Original Cover from my 1469 bracelet fits the US Speedmaster reduced bracelets.

I ended up just buying a 1035 again (or two). I don’t know what it is, but there’s something ever so slightly off about the JB and Forstner flatlinks that bugs me.

I know what you mean. I had another US for my Speedmaster Reduced before. It was fine but then I decided to buy the original bracelet. I think there was something about the color that was not perfect:

However, right now an original 1035 would be too expensive for me as the watch itself is nice but not perfect condition-wise.
