Missing wording on case back?

Hi
A Newbie here and have a question?
I just recently purchased a Speedmaster 002, Did all the research on the 3861 movement and everything before I bought it. Maybe I was too excited to notice when I took possession, that my piece doesn't have the writing on the case back like all the pictures I see/saw. Is this normal?

Top pic is from site
2nd photo is actual watch
Is this normal?

How about a MUCH BETTER picture of your watch. Comparison is next to impossible with such a blurry picture!

This is the kind of thing you check before you take possession of the watch.

Check if you can get it replaced under warranty. Obviously, all this is granted you have a genuine watch and a valid warranty.

I found this on a search:

Depending the version, the case back will either feature the words "Co-Axial Master Chronometer Professional Moonwatch" and "Flight-Qualified By NASA In 1965 For All Manned Space Missions" (Hesalite) or "Co-Axial Master Chronometer" and "The First Watch Worn On The Moon" (sapphire). Additionally, the Omega globe logo is present on the inside of the top right lug, while the case metal is listed on the bottom right lug. (The watch is also available in two gold versions, "Sedna" gold and "Canopus" gold.)

Perhaps your case back was replaced by the AD where you bought it.

Well,

Just got off phone with the AD and said, since I just purchased and want the wording like it should have, I have a new one coming in, enjoy the watch until then and they will exchange. So, whatever the reason whether they changed it, or it came that way? I will have a new one hopefully in the next week or so. Will take better pics of both when this happens.😀

A+ customer service. Great outcome. Which AD is this? That’s somewhere where I’d like to do business.

Doubt they replaced it -- where would they have gotten the correct casebook sans writing. This must have been a mixup at the factory that just wasn't caught.

Glad they are doing the right thing by you.

I love the watch! Just wanted it right, maybe a factory blem makes it worth more?! lol
Its my 1st chrono and preferred this over a Daytona for Heritage and History

The photo is fine to see enough. The watch is definitely legit...

Serial number: 83160391
Article ref: 31030425001002

There is no "blank" case back available that I can see, so this is some sort of factory omission, rather than a dealer case back swap.

I would 100% keep that as it is. It looks so much better and will likely be something quite desirable in years to come.

Yep.

List it as a rare "sterile case" Speedy and watch the bids roll in...

Lol, just talked to rep at Omega and stated with info I gave them and the info they have, that it's a factory flaw. Knowing that now, makes wonder if I should keep it due to this condition or as he states what you see on the site is what you should receive. They are reaching out to the AD themselves to make sure its resolved one way or the other. Have to say that their customer support in this will make me an Omega fan for years to come. Not quite done yet as a Planet Ocean is on the wish list!

Hmm, I would request an official statement from Omega that this is a flaw with that specific watch and keep it.

You can certainly keep the watch as is because it is a quirk. But is it really more valuable on the secondary market? I doubt it. If it was a Rolex it would be more valuable, but an Omega is not a Rolex. And if you would ever sell it in the future a smart buyer would question why there is no writing on the back, it would make selling it more difficult. And if you keep it for its rarity you'll never be able to have it serviced by Omega as they will replace the back with a proper one the first time it enters their system. I'd be swayed to just exchange it and get a proper one, maybe you can get some swag or other freebie to compensate you for the trouble.
